So as I'm sure you've noticed, macrochan was suspended for a bit. The reason for this, is apparently cpu usage. I'm pretty sure that's bullshit however, but there's nothing I can do at this point. The boards that are gone are temporarily disabled until this can be sorted out, which will require either the illiterates who own the server to realise that the "abuse" doesn't exist, or for me to pony up another couple of hundred dollars.
More information coming as I hear it!
All of the content is still there, so have no worries about that. It'll just be a matter of time and more money until the site is usable again.

It looks like there's been a lot of interest in it, so I've added a board for writing and stories. Unlike every other site on the internet, you will never be censored for textual content. This board is for both posting for writing advice and taking requests and posting actual stories - the character limit is pretty high, so you should be able to post a lot of stories.
I also don't mind if you post stories that aren't yours - it is an anonymous board after all.

As I'm sure you've noticed, /zip/ has died. Probably pretty easy to figure out why, too: you could never upload anything above 2 megabytes. While this was partly due to the fucked up server settings you have to put up with when you get server hosting in the 3rd world in order to dodge copyright trolls, it was also partly because kusaba sucks for this sort of uploading. At the moment, I'm looking for a good file uploading solution, because that's something that macrochan definitely needs.
In other news, banners have been finally added. At the moment we're using one banner for each board, but if I get enough banners I'll add a banner rotation script. Feel free to post in the banners thread - worst case you'll get called nasty names on an anonymous imageboard. And in the best case you'll make this site more alive and more active, so I consider it worth it(but then again I have no artistic talent so I just host and pay for the website).

Hello everybody. I've just added a new board - archives. This board is going to be for posting archives and zip files of size related content. While it is, of course, going to be useful for people posting /cg/ related scenes and models etc etc, if the /req/ crowd gets too big on there I'll split it.

/req/ is awful. While originally /req/ was going to be a place for people to post questions and make requests, it quickly turned into the official Brazilian piracy board. That's why I'm making /r/, which is going to work like /req/ used to. You can post whatever sort of requests you want in there, EXCEPT for pay material. So you can request images of black haired giants or whatever.
This isn't going to be a substitute for moderation on the existing /req/ though. As of now, there are a grand total of 0 reported posts - if you have an issue with posts on that board, report them. I do actually check reported posts.

Attention: There are more boards here than "request". The posters here have a lot of content, and unlike /d/, threads will stay here for a while. If everyone browsing here made a few good posts in some of the other boards, we'd be a much healthier board.
And again, if you have any more suggestions, check the thread in /b/ or the irc.

Welcome to the brand new incarnation of MacrochanAlter!
Now that we're using KusabaX, you should find it easier to find an image dumper. Furthermore, we're going to be adding an rs board as well to make finding archives easier. If you've got any complaints or suggestions etc, feel free to join the irc or make a post about it on /b/. The old board is still here, so you can see all the old images and so on in the "/old/" directory(so go to http://macrochanalter.net/old/b/index.html etc etc)
